In activating Africa emergency response systems, we start by recognizing the existence of an emergency. Any serious, unexpected, or dangerous situation such as a life or death situation must be given immediate attention. Only when the emergency is recognized and understood that the next steps will be realized. Deciding to act and how prompt the actions should be is the next step. Decisions are urgent.
The EMS system is then activated and the whole system is coordinated across multiple people and agencies to perform the necessary procedures to save lives. The whole process may take some time. However, even when procedures or the primary emergency treatment has ended, the care does not stop. The following events will remain critical to the patients’ survival.
